Schools can be an important factor to consider when relocating or buying a new home. The local public schools are part of the Gaston County School NC system.   In addition to the Gaston County public school system, there are also a number of excellent private, magnet, and charter schools in Gaston County. Both Gaston Christian School and Gaston Day School have excellent accredited college preparatory programs that offer an alternative to the public school system. For gifted students, the Highland School of Technology is the county’s first magnet high school which provides students with a rigorous and relevant academic and technological education. The Piedmont Charter School located in downtown Gastonia provides an academically challenging curriculum for students while also promoting their emotional and character development. As you can see, Gaston County offers a diverse array of educational opportunities to choose from to meet the specific needs of your family.
